Dental visit

Day +309
This is not BMT related but, just wanted to keep a record of it.
Viki is currently experiencing her first loose teeth like any other kids at her age which is good but, she also has a misaligned tooth growing behind the lower front tooth. In addition to that, she was in pain because her molar tooth was emerging.
Needless to say, I took her to the pediatric dentist at Scottish Rite.
They examined Viki and said everything looked normal. Nothing out of the ordinary, even the misaligned tooth . All we have to do is wait until the front tooth comes out naturally and then, Viki will need to push the misaligned tooth straight forward with her tongue.  For the pain with molar growing, Tylenol was allowed but, she opted not to take it. So brave!!!  Her teeth looked clean overall but, the dentist warned that sign of acute cavity was visible. An oral rinse couple of times a day should do the trick. Viki was due for bi-annual teeth cleaning but our BMT Dr. didn't give the clearance since Viki is still on immunosuppressive medicine. They just put the fluoride vitamin on her teeth for today.

Viki enjoying the fresh fall air in the morning.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about the skin issue :( It must be so disheartening... hang in there. Hopefully, this will pass without much intervention. I can empathize with you your frustrations. It can be so difficult... For a while, when T's platelets were tanking, I was so frustrated and worried (and the drs weren't too concerned). And I realized, I was getting obsessed with it to a point where I really needed to just let go. It was very difficult, but I just had to trust God that He knew what was going on and that He will care for T. I am not sure where you are emotionally, but it can't be easy. I will pray for peace and comfort for you during this time. God loves Victoria and you very very much. Stay strong. We are rooting for V!
